Now, some whisky enthusiasts on social media like to refer to Monday as #MaltMonday. Here at Fife Whisky Festival HQ, we prefer to call it #MurrayMcDavidMonday…
For those of you who have yet to discover this great independent bottler, Murray McDavid offer both single malt and single grain whisky as well as blended malts and well crafted blends.
Although mothballed in 1985, Coleburn distillery in Speyside still stands. Not only is it Murray McDavid’s headquarters but its warehouses nurture the casks of whisky which it will later bottle. With the recent news that certain closed distilleries are soon to recommence production, will Murray McDavid resurrect Coleburn as a working distillery? Who knows!? But wouldn’t it be fantastic if they did?
Although the Fife Whisky Festival falls on a Saturday, not a Monday, be sure to head over to the Murray McDavid stand on 9th March where Dean and Paul (formerly of The Creative Whisky Company) will be pouring some cracking whisky for you to taste.
